In this study, CFD analysis was conducted to compare the aerodynamic performance of the isolated propeller and pusher propeller, which is affected by the wake of wide fuselage. The moving reference frame (MRF) method was used for isolated propeller analysis, while the MRF and sliding mesh method were used sequentially for the pusher propeller to analyze the change in the aerodynamic characteristics based on the azimuth angle. Under the same torque condition, the thrust of the pusher propeller was greater than that of the isolated propeller. Thrust increment of the pusher propeller was mainly generated near the root of the blade where the fuselage wake was concentrated. The net efficiency of the pusher propeller was greater than or equal to that of the isolated propeller. Because of the flat fuselage shape, thrust and torque of the pusher propeller periodically changed with the rotation of the propeller.

Ammunition Demilitarization facility (ADF) should be set up the feasible goals and continue to operate, taking into account non-profit characteristics. However, due to the lack of performance measurement methods in ADF, which are essential to national policy at a significant cost each year, the reliability of the evaluation results can be insufficient. In this paper, the Balanced Score Card (BSC) method was applied that could be evaluated to reflect the financial and non-financial features. The relevant literature research and army regulations reflected the results of various interviews of the expert group. The extraction of success performance area in ADF was confirmed using the BSC method and the Decision Variable (DV) candidate was created to use regression for selecting the DV. Additionally, the key performance indicator was presented by verification the feasibility of content by conducting the survey of experts. The implications of this paper are as follows. First, the proposed BSC model was found to be suitable for practical use in ADF reflecting the non-profit characteristics. Second, accurate evaluation of ADF can contribute to long-term development of ADF. Finally, it can be applied to the management process of the other military sector, so it can be expected to play a role in providing basic data and spreading it to other areas.

Machines and facilities are physically or chemically degenerated by continuous usage. The representative type of the degeneration is the wearing of tools, which results in the process mean shift. According to the increasing wear level, non-conforming products cost and quality loss cost are increasing simultaneously. Therefore, a preventive maintenance is necessary at some point . The problem of determining the maintenance period (or wear limit) which minimizes the total cost is called the ‘process mean shift problem’. The total cost includes three items: maintenance cost (or adjustment cost), non-conforming cost due to the non-conforming products, and quality loss cost due to the difference between the process target value and the product characteristic value among the conforming products. In this study, we set the production volume as a decreasing function rather than a constant. Also we treat the process variance as a function to the increasing wear rather than a constant. To the quality loss function, we adopted the Cpm+, which is the left and right asymmetric process capability index based on the process target value. These can more reflect the production site. In this study, we presented a more extensive maintenance model compared to previous studies, by integrating the items mentioned above. The objective equation of this model is the total cost per unit wear. The determining variables are the wear limit and the initial process setting position that minimize the objective equation.

Recently, with the development of technologies for the fourth industrial revolution, convergence and complex technology are being applied to aircraft, electronic home appliances and mobile devices, and the number of parts used is increasing. Increasing the number of parts and the application of convergence technologies such as HW (hardware) and SW (software) are increasing the No Defect Found (NDF) phenomenon in which the defect is not reproduced or the cause of the defect cannot be identified in the subsequent investigation systems after the discovery of the defect in the product. The NDF phenomenon is a major problem when dealing with complex technical systems, and its consequences may be manifested in decreased safety and dependability and increased life cycle costs. Until now, NDF-related prior studies have been mainly focused on the NDF cost estimation, the cause and impact analysis of NDF in qualitative terms. And there have been no specific methodologies or examples of a working-level perspective to reduce NDF. The purpose of this study is to present a practical methodology for reducing NDF phenomena through data mining methods using quantitative data accumulated in the enterprise. In this study, we performed a cluster analysis using market defects and design-related variables of mobile devices. And then, by analyzing the characteristics of groups with high NDF ratios, we presented improvement directions in terms of design and after service policies. This is significant in solving NDF problems from a practical perspective in the company.

Modern combat has been extended to the concept of real-time response to a variety of threats simultaneously occurring in vast areas. In order to quick command determination and accurate engagement in these threats, the combat system has emerged in frigate. Frigates conduct anti-surface, anti-submarine, and anti-aircraft as the core forces of the fleet. In this study, the combat effectiveness measures naval frigates using AHP (analytic hierarchy process) method. A hierarchical structure for measuring the combat effectiveness was developed, and weights of criteria were calculated by expert surveys and pair-wise comparisons. In addition, the combat effectiveness of frigates was synthesized and compared. The weights for each attribute were calculated, and the weights for the three main attributes were in the order of act (0.594), evaluate (0.277), and see (0.129). As a result of calculating the weight, anti surface warfare (0.203) was the highest. The combat effectiveness of FFG Batch-III, which has advanced hardware and software and improved combat system capabilities, see (1.73 to 2.56 times), evaluate (1.68 to 2.08 times), and act (1.31 to 3.80 times) better than the comparative frigate. In summarizing the combat effects of the frigate, FFG Batch-III was 1.41~2.95 times superior to the comparative frigate. In particular, a group of experts evaluated the act importantly, resulting in better combat effectiveness.

Reliability of fatigue strength on Aircraft Composites(GFRP) Structures was assessed in this paper. Fatigue strength of GFRP was used through the existing fatigue test data with Monte Carlo method. The 𝑆𝑎-𝑁𝑓 curve of composites fatigue strength was assumed as normal distribution and reliability was analyzed using SSIT model. Fatigue stress was designed IAW ASTM F3114-15 with special safety factor of 𝑆𝑠𝑓=1.2~2.0. Reliability was calculated by analytic method and FORM. Sensitivity for the effect of mean and standard deviation of fatigue strength as well as fatigue stability was evaluated. This result can be usefully applied to reliability and fatigue design for composite structures of light weight aircraft.

In this study, we aim to eliminate the flickering phenomenon in multi-function display (MFD) units during the flight of fixed-wing aircraft. To execute flight missions effectively, the video signals transmitted to MFDs must provide information accurately and seamlessly. Therefore, a method for addressing the flickering phenomenon—including cause analysis and failure diagnosis—is adopted; specifically, a wiring configuration with a direct connection between the video signal cables and with a short cable length is adopted. The proposed method is experimentally verified using a flight test.

The information products dramatically reduce the production costs of vertically differentiated products. Information products are also more likely to be affected by network externalities. Thus the proliferation of digital products is increasing the interests in network externality and vertical product differentiation. In step with this trend, the impact of network externalities on price competition in vertically differentiated markets has been continuously studied. Existing studies related to this topic have assumed that network externalities increase consumers willingness to pay per unit quality. The results show that higher quality products are affected more by network externality. However, network externality is essentially a concept affected by the size of the consumer, not a concept associated with quality. In this work, unlike previous studies, we present a new market model that reflects the essential definition of network externality. Based on the proposed market model, we derive both simultaneous and sequential Nash equilibria and analyze them numerically. The main results obtained from the analysis can be summarized as follows. First, network externalities primarily increase the demand for low-quality products and have a secondary impact on the demand for high-quality products. Second, the larger the quality difference between products, the more profitable they are. It also has been shown that sequential pricing methods are more advantageous in terms of revenue than simultaneous pricing method.

Electronic document communication based on a digital channel is becoming increasingly important with the advent of the paperless age. The electronic document based on PDF format does not provide a powerful customer experience for a mobile device user despite replacing a paper document by providing the content integrity and the independence of various devices and software. On the other hand, the electronic document based on HTML5 format has weakness in the content integrity as there is no HTML5 specification for the content integrity despite its enhanced customer experience such as a responsive web technology for a mobile device user. In this paper, we design the Document-HTML, which provides the content integrity and the powerful customer experience by declaring the HTML5 constraint rules and the extended tags to contain the digital signature based on PKI. We analyze the existing electronic document that has been used in the major financial enterprise to develop a sample. We also verify the Document-HTML by experimenting with the sample of HTML electronic communication documents and analyze the PKI equation. The Document-HTML document can be used as an authorized electronic document communication and provide a powerful customer experience in the mobile environment between an enterprise and a user in the future.

The propeller wake of tiltrotor-type aircrafts, such as TR-60 and quad tilt propeller (QTP) UAV, in hover substantially impinges the upper surface of the primary wing and generates a downward load. This load is directly proportional to the thrust of the propeller and reduces the available payload. Therefore, wing and nacelle mechanisms should be carefully designed to reduce downward load. This study conducted a numerical analysis of the rotating propeller in hover to predict the downward load of a QTP UAV. An unsteady three-dimensional Navier-Stokes solver was used along with a sliding mesh for the simulation of the rotating propeller. To reduce the downward load, the tilting mechanisms of the partial wing and nacelle were simultaneously introduced and numerically analyzed. Finally, the downward load was predicted by 14% of isolated propeller thrust; further, the downward load could be reduced by adopting the partial wing and nacelle tilting concept.

As a nation experiencing rapid economic growth, South Korea and its government have made a continuous effort toward efficient research investments to achieve transformation of the Korean industry for the fourth industrial revolution. To achieve the maximum effectiveness of the research investments, it is necessary to evaluate its funding’s worth and default risk. Thus, incorporating the concepts of the Black-Scholes-Merton model and the Greeks, this study develops a default-risk evaluation model in the foundation of a system dynamics methodology. By utilizing the proposed model, this study estimates the monetary worth and the default risks of research funding in the public and private sectors of Information and Communication technologies, along with the sensitivity of the R&D economic worth of research funding to changes in a given parameter. This study finds that the public sector has more potential than the private sector in terms of monetary worth and that the default risks of three types of research funding are relatively high. Through a sensitivity analysis, the results indicate that uncertainty in volatility, operation period, and a risk-free interest rate has trivial impacts on the monetary worth of research funding, while volatility has large impacts on the default risk among the uncertain factors.

Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) are increasingly needed as they can replace manned aircrafts in dangerous military missions. However, because of their low autonomy, current UAVs can execute missions only under continuous operator control. To overcome this limitation, higher autonomy levels of UAVs based on autonomous situational awareness is required. In this paper, we propose an autonomous situational awareness software consisting of situation awareness management, threat recognition, threat identification, and threat space analysis to detect dynamic situational change by external threats. We implemented the proposed software in real mission computer hardware and evaluated the performance of situational awareness toward dynamic radar threats in flight simulations.

The topic of this study is the field of humanitarian logistics for disaster response. Many existing studies have revealed that compliance with the golden time in response to a disaster determines the success or failure of relief activities, and logistics costs account for 80% of the disaster response cost. Besides, the agility, responsiveness, and effectiveness of the humanitarian logistics system are emphasized in consideration of the disaster situation’s characteristics, such as the urgency of life-saving and rapid environmental changes. In other words, they emphasize the importance of logistics activities in disaster response, which includes the effective and efficient distribution of relief supplies. This study proposes a mathematical model for establishing a transport plan to distribute relief supplies in a disaster situation. To determine vehicles’ route and the amount of relief for cities suffering a disaster, it mainly considers the urgency, effectiveness (restoration rate), and uncertainty in the logistics system. The model is initially developed as a mixed-integer nonlinear programming (MINLP) model containing some nonlinear functions and transform into a Mixed-integer linear programming (MILP) model using a logarithmic transformation and piecewise linear approximation method. Furthermore, a minimax problem is suggested to search for breakpoints and slopes to define a piecewise linear function that minimizes the linear approximation error. A numerical experiment is performed to verify the MILP model, and linear approximation error is also analyzed in the experiment.

Recently the meaning of the road name address is expended as an information through the revision of the Road Name Address Act. As this revision, the address of things (AoT) become more important indicating the possibility for the expansion to the related business. However, recent study about AoT does not concern how the current priority system works from the first research. In this study, we analyze perception about addressable object between AoT experts and public using AHP analysis. We structured the importance of addressable objects as two categories; urgency and value creation. The necessity in emergency or daily, accessibility and welfare conform the urgency index. Meanwhile, public value creation in public domain or profitability in the business area and economics conform value creation index. We conducted survey for total of 89 of experts and public. The results of this study indicate the relative importance of AoT measured by experts and public. Generally, public tend to concern more about accessibility conforming the urgency index than experts. Moreover, the public WiFi and the sports complex scored the high priority among the remain addressable objects, in respect of the urgency and the value creation. This result could be implemented for the activation of the smart city industry base on the geospatial information including AoT.

In this paper, a thickness compensation function is introduced to consider the shear deformation and warping effect resulting from increased thickness in the composite multi-cell wing box. The thickness compensation function is used to perform the structure optimization of the multi-cell. It is determined by minimizing the error of an analytical formula using solid mechanics and the Ritz method. It is used to define a structural performance prediction expression due to the increase in thickness. The parameter is defined by the number of spars and analyzed by the critical buckling load and the limited failure index as a response. Constraints in structural optimization are composed of displacements, torsional angles, the critical buckling load, and the failure index. The objective function is the mass, and its optimization is performed using a genetic algorithm.

본 연구에서는 재난치안무인기 MC-1,2,3 대비 임무능력이 대폭 향상된 임무확장형 무인기 후보인 틸트로터 무인기의 공력형상설계와 성능향상을 위한 연구를 수행하였다. 기존 운영 중인 TR60 틸트로터 무인기의 형상을 근간으로 성능향상을 위하여 동체 및 꼬리날개 형상을 개선하고 나셀에 확장날개를 장착한 새로운 TR5X 개념형상을 설계하고 전산유체해석을 통해 기존 TR60과 공력성능을 비교하였다. 또한 TR5X 전기체 공력데이터를 구축하고 전기체 비행성능해석을 수행하여 목표로 설정된 주요 성능 요구도가 만족됨을 확인하였다.

한국해군은 1978년에 하푼 유도탄을 최초 도입 후 단계적인 획득을 통하여 현재까지 운용하고 있다. 하푼 유도탄을 장기 운용함에 따라 성능보장을 위한 적극적인 후속 군수지원이 필요하며, 유도탄 검사는 유도탄 상태를 확인하기 위한 기본 활동이다. 본 연구는 장기간 운용 중인 하푼 유도탄의 기존 검사주기가 적절한지 확인하기 위하여 수행되었으며, 연구 방법은 해군의 야전운용자료를 바탕으로 Martinez 이론과 비모수적 MCF 기법을 활용하여 운용 기간에 따른 구간별 검사주기를 분석하여 제시하였다.

반능동형 MR댐퍼 착륙장치는 MR유체가 환형 유로를 지날 때 유체감쇠력 및 자장 제어 감쇠력을 발생시키는 댐퍼이다. 환형 유로를 지나는 MR 유체의 경우 필연적으로 불완전 발달 유동이 발생하게 되어, 이는 유체 감쇠력을 포함하는 댐퍼 내력 계산에 오차를 발생시키는 원인이 된다. 이로 인해 댐퍼 구조적 파라미터 설계 및 제어 이득 선정이 부정확해지며, 착륙장치의 동특성 및 충격흡수성능 저하를 초래하게 된다. 본 논문에서는 MR댐퍼 환형 유로의 입구영역에서 발생하는 추가적인 감쇠력을 고려한 MR댐퍼 착륙장치의 수학적 모델을 유도하였다. 본 논문에서 유도한 수학적 모델링을 MR댐퍼 착륙장치의 설계 및 최적화 과정에 적용한다면 좀 더 정확한 내력 예측으로 우수한 성능의 MR댐퍼 착륙장치를 설계할 수 있을 것으로 판단된다.

PCB 기반 전개형 태양전지판은 경량화 및 전기적 연결의 용이성으로 주로 큐브위성에 사용되나, 태양전지판의 면적이 증가할수록 발사환경에서 유발되는 굽힘거동이 증가하기 때문에 태양전지셀의 구조건전성 보장에 한계가 있다. 종래에는 태양전지판의 강성증가를 통해 굽힘거동을 최소화하고자 알루미늄 및 복합재 기반의 보강재를 또는 태양전지판을 적용하였지만, 태양전지판의 부피 및 무게 증가로 제한적인 설계요구조건을 가진 태양전지판의 단점으로 작용한다. 본 연구에서는 점탄성 테이프로 다층 박판을 적층하여 고댐핑 특성 구현이 가능한 6U 규격의 고댐핑 적층형 태양전지판을 제안하였다. 제안된 태양전지판의 기본특성파악을 위해 자유감쇠시험을 수행하였으며, 인증수준의 발사진동시험을 통해 설계유효성을 입증하였다. 또한, 시험결과를 토대로 일반 PCB 태양전지판과 고댐핑 적층형 태양전지판의 진동특성을 예측하고 비교분석을 수행하였다.

본 논문은 고정익 유·무인기 협업을 모의하는 원격공중통제 시뮬레이터에 관하여 기술한다. 무인기의 급격한 기술개발을 통해 무인기의 임무 능력은 크게 성장하였다. 무인기의 역할은 단순 정찰 임무에서 부터 전자전, 근접 공중 지원, 유·무인 협업과 같은 복합 임무까지 수행할 수 있도록 발전하고 있다. 이에, 지상에서 이러한 복합 임무를 모의할 수 있는 환경에 대한 개발 요구가 커지고 있다. 원격공중통제 시뮬레이터는 고정익 유·무인기 협업 기술 개발을 위해 지상에서 유·무인 협업 임무모의 수행을 위하여 개발되었다. 최신의 유·무인 협업 연구 사례와 더불어 원격공중통제 시뮬레이터의 무인기 임무 수행 모의 환경 활용과 적용에 대하여 기술하고자한다.
