Prefabricated bridges require strict management of tolerance during fabrication and assembly. In this paper, digital engineering models for prefabricated bridge components such as deck, girder, pier, abutment are suggested to support information delivery through the life-cycle of the bridge. Rule-based modeling is used to define geometry of the members considering variable dimensions due to fabrication and assembly error. DfMA(design for manufacturing and assembly) provides the rules for ease of fabrication and assembly. The digital engineering model consists of geometry, constraints and corresponding parameters for each phase. Alignment and control points are defined to manage tolerances of the prefabricated bridge during fabrication and assembly. Quality control by digital measurement of dimensions was also considered in the model definition. A pilot bridge was defined virtually to validate the suggested digital engineering models. The digital engineering models for DfMA showed excellent potential to realize prefabricated bridges.

BIM facilitates data transparency and consistency through three-dimensional parametric modeling and promotes the accurate managing and sharing of project information. In Korea, however, BIM-based detailed design of architectural interior finishes required during the Construction Documents phase increases the burden on architectural firms due to frequent design changes and manual workload. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to establish rule-based modules using parametric modeling that automates repetitive tasks that occur during the detailed design of interior finishing. Interviews with practitioners were conducted to analyze the major finishing elements. Of these floors, walls, and ceilings, which were the most rudimentary and common items, were selected as the subjects of the study. The modules developed in this study have two functions. One is to create new finish types, and the other is the automatic modeling of new types into rooms. For these functions, parameters that belonged to each finish and room element in a BIM model were analyzed and valid parameters directly used for parametric modeling were derived. Then, based on these parameters, rule-based modules for three elements, I.e., floors, walls, and ceilings were constructed with Revit Dynamo, and the effectiveness of the modules was verified with a pilot test. In conclusion, this study suggested a series of processes for automatic finishing to improve the efficiency of BIM-based architectural detailed design of finishes and to contribute in solving the chronic problems occuring during current design processes.

This research aims to find the issues and explore policy agenda of contributed acceptance of urban renewal project. Through the analysis of urban renewal project in Seoul, three isssues was found as follows. Firstly, the ratio of contributed acceptance in each district was quite different. Secondly, the donated land was scattered around whole project area. Thirdly, infrastructures are not constructed until all renewal projects were implemented. For this issues, this research proposed that a proper standard of the ratio of contributed acceptance is needed and land donation should be designated to adjacent lot or block. Also public support should be for developing urban capacity and completing infrastructure.

In order to overcome the limitations of th 2D method regardless of the client¡¯s request, the application of BIM was reviewed to create hight-quality products using 3D models and various BIM information for offshore wind jacket-type structures. First, we defined the input value through analysis of the target structure and wrote an algorithm(script library) and library to complete the BIM model. Design review using geometry information based on th BIM model, usage for visualization drawings and quantity calculation were reviewed. For the purpose of initial review, only libraries with a limited number of subjects limitations on the scope of research were used. However, in the futrue, various libraries will be developed and research will be conducted to expand the scope of subjects.

Concrete formwork is a crucial component for any construction project. Artificial intelligence offers great potential to automate formwork design by offering various design options and under different criteria depending on the requirements. This study applied image segmentation in 2D formwork drawings to extract sheathing, strut and pipe support formwork elements. The proposed artificial intelligence model can recognize, classify, and extract formwork elements from 2D CAD drawing image and training and test results confirmed the model performed very well at formwork element recognition with average precision and recall better than 80%. Recognition systems for each formwork element can be implemented later to generate 3D BIM models.

In the current 2D-based design, design reliability is lowered due to interference and inconsistency between plans, errors in drawings and quantities, etc. At the time of transition to BIM-based 3D design, it is necessary to expand the reliability and usability of BIM by eliminating these errors from the design stage through securing the quality of the BIM digital model. Therefore, in the railway infrastructure design stage, the quality management process and standards of the BIM digital model were defined and quality management index were developed. Based on the rule extracted from the quality management index, a pilot quality management was conducted in connection with the commercial Model-Checker rule, problems and improvement plans were derived, and a rule-based automated quality management plan was prepared.

Recently, demand for designing own space is increasing as the rapid growth of home furnishing market. However, there is a limitation that it is not easy to compare the style between before construction view and after view. This study aims to translate real image into another style with GAN model learned with interior images. To implement this, first we established style criteria and collected modern, natural, and classic style images, and experimented with ResNet, UNet, Gradient penalty concept to CycleGAN algorithm. As a result of training, model recognize common indoor image elements, such as floor, wall, and furniture, and suitable color, material was converted according to interior style. On the other hand, the form of furniture, ornaments, and detailed pattern expressions are difficult to be recognized by CycleGAN model, and the accuracy lacked. Although UNet converted images more radically than ResNet, it was more stained. The GAN algorithm allowed us to represent results within 2 seconds. Through this, it is possible to quickly and easily visualize and compare the front and after the interior space style to be constructed. Furthermore, this GAN will be available to use in the design rendering include interior.

It has become mandatory to designs by BIM in construction. It is urgent to make accurate decisions through the linkage between complex and various types of data in projects. In particular, block-chain based data sharing process (using BIM files, general construction submitted files) is essential to support reliable decision making in complex data flood systems. Prior to developing data sharing system based on block-chain, in this paper, a data linkage method is proposed so that practitioners can simultaneously utilize existing construction information and BIM data. Examples are shown based on the construction classification system and file expression, and incentive strategies are explored through a survey so that heterogeneous information can be used at the same time in overall projects.
