We conducted a brief survey to find out what kind of thoughts collectively constructed on the ambiguous signifier of ¡®young cultural studies¡¯. Thirty-one participants of various majors and age groups responded to the questionnaire. They experienced a deficiency from the limitations of the university, and they partially resolved this by participating in academic activities outside the university, forming their identity as cultural studies researchers. Regarding the prospects of cultural studies, the respondents presented various opinions including the re-recognition of cultural politics, overcoming academy-centrism and discipline-centricity. Repeated thinking and practice of identity and conditions of existence may be the only alternative for the renewal of cultural studies.
