이 연구는 2019년 생활시간조사자료를 이용하여 65세 이상의 은퇴한 노인 부부의 여가시간과 여가동반자가 삶의 만족도에 미치는 영향을 성별차이를 중심으로 분석한다. 남녀 노인은 생애과정상 서로 다른 조건 속에서 축적된 고유한 특성을 가지나, 이를 생활시간을 통해실증적으로 확인한 국내 연구는 부족한 실정이다. 이에 이 연구는 ‘노인 부부’를 대상으로 여가시간과 여가동반자, 삶의 만족도에서 나타나는 성별차이를 분석한다. 주요 결과는 다음과같다. 첫째, 남성이 여성보다 많은 시간을 여가에 할애하고 있었으며, ‘미디어 이용’, ‘스포츠및 레포츠’, ‘게임 및 놀이’ 시간은 유의미한 성별차이를 보여주었다. 삶의 만족도 면에서는여성만이 ‘교제활동’, ‘문화 및 관광활동’, ‘기타 여가활동’에서 유의미한 관련성을 보여 여가시간이 성별에 따라 삶의 만족도에 미치는 영항에 차이가 있었다. 둘째, 여가동반자와 삶의만족도 분석에서 여성은 ‘배우자가 아닌 가족’과 함께 여가를 보내는 시간이 영향을 미쳤으나남성은 유의미한 영향이 확인되지 않았다. 이러한 결과를 바탕으로 생애전환기를 경험하는노인들의 성별차이가 여가시간과 삶의 만족도의 관계에 영향을 미칠 수 있으며, 변화된 일상생활 및 사회적 관계에 적응하는 양상에도 영향을 줄 수 있음을 설명하고자 하였다.

This study examines the effects of leisure time and leisure companions on life satisfaction of retired elderly couples over the age of 65 by using the 2019 Korean Time Use Survey. The elderly men and women have unique characteristics accumulated with different conditions throughout their lives, but empirical research using the Korean Time Use Survey is insufficient in Korea. Therefore, this study analyzes the gender differences in leisure time, leisure companions, and life satisfaction, targeting elderly couples. First, men spend more on leisure time than women, and the time for ‘media’, ‘sports’, and ‘game’ showed significant gender differences. Only women showed a significant relationship between ‘social activity’, ‘cultural tourism activity’, and ‘other leisure activity’ and life satisfaction. Second, the time spent on leisure with ‘family other than spouse’ had an effect on women. This study attempted to show that gender can affect the relationship between leisure time and life satisfaction, and can also affect the aspects of adaptation to changed daily life and social relationships.
