주지하다시피, 두만강 하류지역은 현재 여러 국가들의 국경이 접한 민감한 지역이니 만큼 국제적인 공조와 협력이 없으면 공동조사와 개발계획은 유명무실해 질수밖에 없다. 그렇기에 현재적상황에서 준비되어야 할 사안은 그간에 진행된 이 지역 관련유적의 조사와 연구현황을 명확하게파악하고, 이를 학계와 공유하는 작업이 될 것이다. 그러한 문제의식 하에, 본문에서는 그간에진행된 이 지역 고고학 문화·유적의 조사 및 연구 동향을 개략적으로 살펴보았고, 그중 최근 20 년간 주요 쟁점이 되어온 주요 현안들을 반추해 봄으로서 남겨진 과제와 그 방향성에 대한 검토를 겸하였다.

As you noted, since the downstream area of the Duman River is a very sensitive region that contacts the borderlines of many countries, joint research and development plans would be nominal without international collaboration and cooperation. Therefore, the things to be prepared in the current situation are to clearly grasp the present status of survey and research so far on the related sites in this area and to share them with academia. With the awareness of this issue, the main body of this study reviews the investigation and research trend of archaeological cultures and relics that have been made in this area and reflects on the major issues of the recent 20 years.
