비대면 관람에 대한 요구가 급증하고 디지털기술의 발전에 의해 온라인 공간의 역할과 위상이높아지고 지방인구가 지속적으로 감소하는 상황에서, 지방자치단체(이하 지자체)의 박물관 신규건립은 부정적으로 인식될 수밖에 없다. 더욱이 박물관 운영관련 지표가 상대적으로 열악한 충청북도 소속 이하 지자체는 대안적 전시형태를 모색해야 할 상황에 놓여 있다. 본고는 사이버박물관을 대안으로 제시하면서, 사례분석을 통해 그 구축의 방향성을 제안한다. 구체적으로 사이버박물관의 구축 시 온라인공간에 적합한 매체기술의 활용, 지자체 고유의 콘텐츠 개발, 공감을 기반으로 한 쌍방향적 기획, 국외 사례 조사를 통한 서비스영역의 확대 모색, 박물관건립 선행체제로서 사이버박물관 구축 등이 제안에 포함된다.

Facing changes of social circumstance such as increasing needs for ‘untact’ visiting, the role and status of cyber space improved by advancing digital technology and continuous decrement of local population, new construction project of local museum by local governments cannot be supported by the mass. In addition, some objective index suggests that local government belong to North Chungcheong Province should explore alternative mode of exhibition. Finding some promising aspect from cyber museum as an alternative of that kind, we suggest plausible orientation for it based on analyzing case studies. At once, I suggest the orientation pursued by cyber museum managed by local government. Specifically, the suggestion includes using proper online media technology for construction of cyber museum, addressing own contents of local communities, interactive planning, expanding service based on studying international cases, constructing cyber museum as precedent system for launching real museum.
