본 연구는 미술가이자 예 술강사， 문화기획자인 윤현옥에 대한 예 술 적 교육적 분석
과 평 가를 담고 있다. 연구의 동기는 2006년 작가 윤현옥을 처음 만난 경험에서 비 롯
되었 다. 당시 문화관광부는 ‘세 예 술정책’의 추진을 위해 제정한 ‘문화예술교육지원법’
의 실행 차원에서 ‘학교 - 지역사회 연계 문화 예 술교육 시범사업’ 을 실시하고 있었다
기 존 학교 미 술교육 과 다른 문화예술교육 수엽의 현실과 가능 성에 관심이 있었던 필
자는 안양의 스톤앤워 터라 는 대안공간이 운영하던 ‘스톤앤워터교육예술센터’(이하 센
터) 를 방문하여 관련 조사와 수업 참관을 문의하였다 이후 지역 초중등학교와 연계
하여 11 명의 강사진(이중 미술가는 10 명， 초등교사 1 명)이 실시하는 시범사업 미술수업을 3차례 참관할 수 있었다. 이 과정에서 센터의 교육연구실장으로서 2년째 전체
프로그램을 기획하고， 스스로도 문화예술 강사로 참여 중 이었던 윤현옥의 도움을 받
게 되었다. 강사들과의 개별 인터뷰， 참관 수업 추천 및 주선， 센터 전체 행사 초대
및 참여 등의 일련의 과정으로 통해 필자는 예술가에 의한 미술교육에 대한 연구의
필요성을 갖게 되었다.

In this article, I show an analysis and evaluation of the art and educational projects made by teaching artist Yoon Hyunok. She started her career with painter, and changed her identity to teaching artist. In her art projects, she give the opportunities for students to engage in thinking and art-making that consider vital questions about nature, place, culture and society. I classified her art practices as four kinds of activities; teaching artist, community art as the networking life with learning, project-based lessons and the extension of experiences, research based art making. Each cases treated by educational criticism, in sight of description, interpretation, evaluation. And I applied four theoretic concepts to analyse her art projects. In conclusion, the art projects organized by Yoon inform us that art practice can be the (re)construction of social relations, art making can foster cognition, feelings, cultural tolerance. In her art projects, life-art-education collaborate and working together in organic connection. It is the community that learner belonged is starting point of learning. Form this point of view, she assist that art project can be the possibility of art class set in out of school.
