This study investigated how ex-prisoners overcome and recover from stigma, discrimination, and prejudice in the process of returning to society using Giorgi s qualitative research room. Among the prisoners who completed the psychotherapy program at the correctional facility, 12 people who were preparing for employment after being released from prison or who had successful employment experience were selected as the first research subjects, and after a long in-depth interview, 6 people were finally selected and the social studies of the released people were selected. Four components that regard the essence of the experience of return as meanings were derived as follows. This study found the following implications. First, the family of the released prisoner in general is in a state of disintegration or disconnection with him or her while family relations are not smooth. Second, it is difficult to get a stable job and earn an economic foundation that can stand on his or her own feet. Third, the social support system for released prisoners is weak. Fourth, the goal of a released prisoner s life is not clear and lacks confidence. As a result, released prisoners need to be free from the stigma, discrimination, and prejudice of their own because their families are broken up or disconnected, their self-reliance economic base and stable employment, their social support systems are weak, and their goals are unclear and lack confidence. This is ultimately intended to understand released prisoners and help them to return to society, requiring the development of a variety of programs and training of specialized remedial practitioners and providing basic data for understanding the inmates and developing and applying practical intervention methods at the site of remedial social welfare.
