본 연구의 목적은 대전시 자치구간 격차가 대전시민의 삶의 만족도에 어떤 영향을 미치는지를 분석하는 것이며, 이를 위해 2015년 대전광역시 사회조사 자료를 분석했다. 즉 응답자 총11,057명의 자료를 사용했다. 자료분석 결과, 통계적으로 유의미한 결과를 나타내는 변수는 거주 자치구, 교육수준, 월평균가구소득, 대전 거주기간, 혼인상태, 노동상황, 주거환경 만족도, 가족관계 만족도, 자기 일의 가치 부여 정도다. 특히 이 중에서 삶의 만족도에 가장 큰 영향을 미치는 요인은 현재 자신이 하고 있는 일에 대한 가치평가, ‘자기 일의 가치 부여’이며, 이러한 결과는 거주자치구의 영향력을 상쇄시키는 수준으로 나타났다. 즉, 시민의 삶의 만족은 단순히 생활환경 등의 격차만을 해소하는 방식으로 달성될 수 없으며 현재 시민들이 하고 있는 일에 대한 자긍심과 보람을 향상시킬 수 있는 사회 환경의 조성이 중요하다. 따라서 일에 대한 정당한 보상과 사회적 인정, 타인의 노동에 대한 고마움 인지 등이 요구되며 이를 위한 경제구조 개선과 사회문화의 변화를 도모할 수 있는 정책이 필요하다.

The purpose of this study is to analyze how the disparity between autonomous districts in Daejeon City influences the citizens’ life satisfaction. To address the goal, this author analyzed the data of the 2015 Social Survey of Daejeon Metropolitan City. In other words, total 11,057 respondents’ data were used here.
According to the analysis results, variables indicating statistically significant results are found to be the autonomous district they are living in, level of education, the duration of residing in Daejeon, monthly average household income, marital status, conditions of labor, satisfaction with residential environment, satisfaction with family relationship and the degree of providing value to one’s job. Particularly, among these, the factors influencing the respondents’ life satisfaction the most are found to be estimating the value of the job they are presently having and ‘the degree of providing value to one’s job’. This result falls under the level that offsets the influence of the autonomous district they are living in. In other words, citizens’ life satisfaction cannot be attained simply by getting rid of the disparity between the living environments of autonomous districts, and it is important to form social environment that can enhance the citizens’ pride in the job they are having and sense of fulfillment. To realize this, it is needed to improve the economic structure itself by providing fair compensations at work, recognizing them socially, and appreciating the labor of others and also make policies to bring changes socially as well as culturally.
