본 연구는 농인들이 입원을 통해 무엇을 경험하고 느끼고 있으며, 어떻게 그것을 해석하고 있는지 그 주관적 경험에 관한 인식을 현상학적인 분석을 통하여, 장애로 인한 의사소통과 정보 전달의 단절이 농인들의 입원 경험의 본질적 현상임을 인식하고, 농인들이 병원에 입원하는 동안 느끼는 소외감과 위축감을 극복할 수 있는 지원 방안을 제시함을 본 연구의 목적으로 한다. 연구 참여자는 수화를 주 언어로 사용하는 농인 중에서 입원경험이 있는 사람을 선정 하였고, 자료 수집은 반 구조화된 질문지를 바탕으로 심층 인터뷰를 실시하였다. 수화로 진행된 인터뷰의 모든 과정은 녹화 하였으며, 녹화된 자료는 음성언어로 변환하여 필사한 녹취록을 만들었다. 이렇게 수집한 자료는 현상학적 분석 방법을 활용하여 분석하였다. 분석을 통해 도출한 농인들의 입원 경험의 의미 있는 진술은 203개였다. 그 중에서 의미가 중복되는 것을 제외하고 92개의 의미 있는 진술을 최종 확보하였다. 92개의 진술들을 12개 주제 묶음과 4개의 대주제로 분류하였다. 대 주제는 소통의 한계와 장벽, 배려 없는 병원에서 거부되는 아픔 겪음, 낮선 섬, 병실에 외롭게 갇힘, 통하는 는 사람들의 지지를 통해 다시 희망을 얻고 해방됨이었다. 이 주제를 관통하고 있는 농인의 입원 경험의 본질적 현상은 ‘다시 장애인이 된 것 같음’이었다. 마지막으로 농인의 입원 경험을 바탕으로 농인의 병원생활과 관련한 지원방안을 제시하였다.

In this research, a deaf person hospitalization experience was attempted to understand essentially and search for support plan. The researcher tried to reveal phenomenon and sought to what the experiences of treatment process after a deaf person were diagnosed the disease in the hospital. As the research participant, we chose a person who had hospitalization experience and use the deaf language. The researcher collected data by in-depth interview based on a half-structured questionnaire. Interview was proceeded by deaf language and the process was recorded. Recorded data was transformed to vocal language and was made into desperate transcript. Collected data was analyzed by phenomenological analysis method. The meaningful statements of elected a deaf person hospitalization experience through the analysis are 203. The researcher secured meaningful 92 statements except overlapped data. 92 statements were grouped into 12 sections and four main notes. Main notes are Limitation and barriers to
communication, Pain experience refused in mindlessness hospital, A strange island, solitary confinement to a ward, To be obtained and liberated by the support and hopes of communicating. The essential phenomenon of the a deaf person hospitalization experience that is passing through this topic was that is was ‘becoming disabled again.’ Finally base on a deaf person hospitalization experience, researcher proposed support policy and program related to a deaf person hospital life.
