최근에 반도체산업체 급속한 발달로 고가이면서 중량물인 설비물들이 항공운송으로 국내에 많이 반입되고 있다. 이들 설비들은 반도체제작 장비들로서 보통 수요자의 주문생산으로 설계되어 제작기술이 대단히 난해하고 반도체 부품들의 생산에만 제한적으로 사용되며 사용주기도 비교적 짧은 장비 고유의 특성 때문에 제품의 가격이 실로 천문학적인 수준이다. 만일 이러한 고가의 반도체 생산 장비가 최종구매차익 구내까치 운송 도중에 불행하게도 사고가 발생하면 장비 자체에 대한 직접적인 손해는 물론이고 나아가 본장비의 납기 지연으로 발생되는 추가적인 손해는 그 규모가 상상하기 어려운 초대형 사고가 이어진다. 따라서 본 연구는 초고가의 반도체 장비들의 항공운송에서 적하보험자의 위험관리 방안에 대하여 연구하고자 하였다. 여러 가지 위험관리방안 중에서 현실적으로 어려움 없이 쉽게 적용할 수 있는 방안으로는 공항에서 화물의 하기작업과 내륙운송 용구에 대한 적재작업에 입회하여 적극적으로 사고발생 감독을 하는 것이다. 이러한 사전의 사고발생 감독업무를 통하여 적하보험자는 사고발생전의 아주 저렴한 사고예방비용으로 실제 사고발생사 지급되는 거액의 보험금 지급을 통제함으로써 보다 더 효과적으로 손해율을 관리할 수 있을 것이다.

Recently, trade volume of highly expensive and heavy cargo have a tendency to increase in Korea market by reason of rapid developing technology in the field of semiconductor industry. Particularly semiconductor equipments and/or apparatus consist of too much parts with numerous accessories. These equipments have special features such as dimension with large and wide size. a one body type (monolithic type). highly expensive price and tailer-made base under request for a. buyer of semiconductor productions. In the circumstances. if these kinds of air cargo are taken accident unexpected due to careless/rough handling of the carrier, forwarder. stevedore and truck driver. then consignee (buyer) duly gets into big trouble of loss or damage and also the end-user including the shipper is much suffered from delay and/or no providing the equipment with product lines. too. Delay in providing semiconductor equipment sometimes leads to heavy loss. what is called 'loss of Business Interruption' that is another kind of catastrophe.
Therefore this study aims to present strategies of risk management of air cargo insurance for highly expensive and heavy cargo transported by air in order that the cargo underwriter may properly handle effective loss ratio for kind and stable management.
