전통적으로 여성은 몸의 재생산 기능 때문에 주체적인 존재로서 인정되지 못하였다. 여성은 몸으로 간주되어 마음인 남성에 의해 통제를 받아야 할 것으로 간주된 것이다. 이에 본 연구는 여성이 억압으로부터 벗어나 자신을 인식주체이자 도덕적인 주체로 자각하도록 하기 위해서 페미니즘을 토대로 여성과 몸의 관계를 살펴보고, 몸 교육의 방향을 제시한다. 페미니즘에서 몸에 대한 통일된 관점이 있는 것은 아니지만, 몸을 통합적 관점에서, 즉 자연과 문화의 산물, 사회문화적인 규범이 각인되는 장소뿐만 아니라 저항과 전복의 장소, 몸과 마음의 이원론을 넘어서는 것으로 이해할 필요가 있다. 이와 같은 몸에 대한 관점은 여성을 인식주체이자 도덕적인 주체로 간주할 수 있는 여지를 제공해준다. 페미니즘은 여성의 몸을 통제함으로써 여성을 억압하는 방식을 비판하고, 몸의 젠더화가 젠더 불평등의 기초가 되는 것으로 이해한다. 페미니즘에 근거한 몸 교육은 자신의 몸의 의미에 대한 비판적인 의식을 함양함으로써 자신을 지속적으로 재구성하도록 하고, 자신의 삶을 비판적으로 반성해볼 수 있는 힘을 갖도록 한다. 또한 몸 교육은 여성이 자신의 몸을 긍정적으로 받아들이고 몸의 능력을 발달시키도록 한다. 이와 같은 몸 교육을 실천하기 위해서 몸 교육의 내용 및 방법, 즉 몸에 대한 글쓰기와 몸 서사 말하기, 몸 교육의 수업 모형과 교사의 역할을 제안한다.

This article studied the direction of body education and the relationship between woman and body based on feminism. First, I criticized the relationship between woman and body in the traditional standpoint: woman is the body, body is understood as an unchangeable given. Some feminists understand the body as a biological or natural form, some feminists cultural form. In this article, I regard the body as a text of femininity, a cultural form, site of disciplinary power and resistance. Feminists recognize women as epistemological subjects and moral subjects through embodiment. Body education of the traditional standpoint centers on making gendered bodies through discipline. But the body education of feminism recognizes body experience of woman, encourages the reconstruction of self through cultivating critical consciousness on the meaning of woman's body. Developing their body' capacity for women means regarding their beings as capacity. I suggested the content, the method and the role of teacher of body education based on feminism.
