The purpose of this study was to investigate impacts of job satisfaction and perceived organizational support(POS) on in-role behavior. Existing research related to these areas showed that Job satisfaction and perceived organizational support had little influences on individual performances(Setton, Bennett, & Liden, 1996). Considering these unexpected results effort was suggested as an intermediary variable in this research.
480 employees working in an manufacturing company participated in the research and the collected data were analyzed using LISREL. Followings were results of the study. First, job satisfacyion did not have direct and indirect influences on in-role behavior. Second, consistent with existing research POS had significant impact on in-role behavior(Eisenberger, Huntington, Hutchison, & Sowa, 1986). Third, POS was found to have indirect impact on in role behavior through individual effort.
