지금까지의 『謝氏南征記』 異本 연구를 통해 우리는 약 80여 종에 달하는 이 소설 이본들의 계열을 어느 정도 파악할 수 있다. 본고에서는 이러한 기왕의 논의에 힘입어 이 소설의 주요 이본으로 거론되고 있는 4편의 寫本의 형성 과정과 그 특성 및 가치에 대해 살펴보았다.
南基泓本은 金春澤 漢譯本 계열에 속하는 이본이다. 이 이본은 지금까지알려져 있던 것과는 달리 누군가에 의해 별도의 윤색이 가해지기도 하고 김춘택의 보유문이 본문 속에 편입되기도 한 이본에 불과하다. 따라서 김춘택 한역본으로서의 그 본문의 이본 가치는 그다지 높은 편이 아니다.
延世大本은 국문 원본계의 직역투 한역본이다. 『사씨남정기』 국문 原本의 모습을 비교적 온전하게 간직하고 있으므로 오늘날 이 이본을 통해 金萬重의 국문 원본의 모습을 규지하고 김춘택 한역본과 국문 원본과의 거리를 추정할 수 있다. 이러한 측면에서 그 이본 가치를 높게 평가할 만하다.
藏書閣本은 국문 원본에 가까운 이본이다. 그렇지만 한문본에서 번역된것 같은 부분을 여러 곳에서 발견할 수 있다. 그럼에도 불구하고 全篇의 문장 흐름이 비교적 매끄러운 편이며 아울러 우리말 古語를 다수 포함하고 있다. 따라서 현존 국문 이본 중에서는 우선 그 가치를 높게 평가할 만하다.
趙東一本도 국문 원본에 가까운 이본이다. 하지만 이 이본은 金萬重의『南征記』 원본을 한역한 이본인 『白??洲重逢記』와 김춘택 한역본의 일부를 다시 우리말로 번역한 것이다. 그 때문에 그 이본 가치는 그다지 높게 평가할 수 없다.

Some scholars have made the studies of different versions of the SASSINAMJUNGGI(謝氏南征記), so We have gotten at about eighty kinds of the interrelated versions in this novel. In this thesis, through the preceding research, I made a special study of a process of the four manuscripts' formation and characteristics.
The Version of NAMGIHONG(南基泓) is a different version that is belongs to a chinese version of KIMCHEUNTAEK(金春澤). This different version is not only embellished separately by someone but also included KIMCHEUNTAEK's added paper in the text. Consequently value of the text is not estimated highly.
The Version of YONSEI UNIVERSITY is the chinese version which is translated literally from the korean original text. Because SASSINAMJUNGGI has kept the figure of korean original text unimpaired, through this text, we can both know KIMMANJOONG(金萬重)'s Korean original text and presume the distance between KIMCHEUNTAEK's Chinese version and Korean original version. At this point, we can estimate this text highly.
The Version of CHANGSOGAK(藏書閣) is nearly like korean original text. But this version has various parts which seems to be translated from the chinese version. And yet the whole stream of sentences are relatively smooth, what is more, it contains many korean classical words. Therefore among existing different versions of korean, we can estimate highly.
The Version of CHODONGIL(趙東一) is also nearly like korean original text. But this version is translated into korean from the part of BAEKBINJOOJOONGBONGGI(白??州重逢記.) which is the different version of KIMMANJOONG's NAMJUNGGI(南征記) and KIMCHEUNTAEK's chinese version. As a result, this version can not valued high.
