서울시 학생 청소년을 대상으로 자기보고식 설문지를 통해 비행을 조사한 결과 청소년의 비행행동 중 상대적으로 높은 경험율을 보인 비행행동은 상습적 음주, 상습적 흡연, 가출, 패싸움, 돈을 빼앗기로 나타났다. 전반적으로 남자 청소년이 더 많이 비행을 저지르지만 여자 청소년의 비행이 증가하고 있으며 심각해지고 있다. 특히 폭력비행에 속하는 패싸움, 돈을 빼앗아본 경험 등의 비행행동도 많이 보고되고 있어 여학생의 폭력성 비행에 대한 대책이 필요한 것으로 분석된다.
가족구조 요인보다는 가정폭력 요인이 남녀 모두의 비행에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 소득이나 부의 교육과 같은 가족구조 요인은 일부의 비행유형에서는 비행경험 집단과 비행무경험 집단간 차이가 있었으나 다른 가족 요인을 통제한 후에도 영향력을 미치는 경우는 여학생의 성 비행에서만 유의미하였다. 또한 기존의 연구에서와 마찬가지로 결손가정여부는 비행에 영향을 미치지 못하였다. 가정폭력 요인 중 특히 부모로부터의 신체적 학대경험은 남학생과 여학생 모두에게 청소년비행의 주요한 원인으로 분석되며 이러한 결과는 기존의 연구결과와 일치된다. 부모의 학대는 남녀 청소년 모두에게 비행에 영향을 주는 가장 중요한 역할을 하고 있으며 따라서 부모로부터의 학대의 부정적 영향력을 인식하고 완화할 수 있는 내용이 포함될 필요가 있다. 부모 간 폭력의 목격 경험은 다른 가족요인을 통제했을 때는 남학생의 경우에는 성비행에 영향을 미치고, 여학생의 경우에는 폭력비행에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 전반적으로 살펴볼 때, 여자 청소년에게 가족 요인이 더 특별히 영향을 미치고 있다고 하는 경향은 본 연구에서는 뚜렷이 나타나지 않는다. 다만 성비행의 경우에만 여자 청소년이 남자 청소년에 비해 전반적인 가족요인에 의해 더 영향을 받는 것으로 나타났다.

The purpose of this study is to find out how family structure variables and family violence variables influence hidden delinquency committed by students. By focusing on sex differences, this study analyzes female delinquency as well as male delinquency. The data used in this study are drawn form a self-reported delinquent behaviors from 1,991 middle and high school students in Seoul area.
The results are as follows. Drug-related delinquencies are the most frequently occurring delinquency types. And chi-square test shows that male students have higher delinquency rates than female students in all types of delinquencies.
A series of logistic regression are performed to find out the relative influence of independent variables controlling for each others. Among family structural variables, being a one-parent family is not a significant variable in predicting students' delinquency. Neither father's educational level is significant. Family income is a significant variable only in the case of female sex-related delinquency.
The most influential independent variable is physical abuse by parents. The variable is significant in predicting all the delinquency types of both female and male students. Vernal abuse by parents is a significant predicting variable in drug-related delinquency of male and female students and runaway of male students. Witnessing parental violence is a significant predicting variable in the case of male sex-related delinquency and female violence-related delinquency.
Suggestions and implications with regard to preventive and interventive strategies are discussed.
