Objective: The goal of this study were (1) to examine the type of parental time, (2) to investigate the family’s characteristics that affect the parental time types. (3), to identify the differences in time satisfaction and time deficit according to the types of parental time of mothers with preschool children. Methods: The data source for this research was the 2014 Time Use Survey conducted by the Korea National Statistical Office(391 time diaries). Data were analyzed using K-means cluster analysis, multinominal regression, and ANOVA. Results: The results can be summarized as follows. First, parental time was classified into four groups; non-participation, play-centered, physical care-centered, unspecified group. Second, the characteristics of each type depended on children’s age, mother’s education level, mother’s income, and dual earner families. Third, time deficit showed significant differences between play-centered and non-participation type. Conclusion/Implications: Based on the results, implications for policy regarding child care and labor were suggested.

Objective: This study was to examined the mediating effect of active emotion regulation and marital quality in the relationships between self-compassion and maternal-fetal attachment. Methods: A questionnaire was administered to 836 pregnant women and the data were analyzed by SPSS21 and M-plus7, and statistical analysis, frequency analysis, and then structural equation modeling were performed. Results: First, self-compassion directly affects maternal-fetal attachment. Second, self-compassion was indirectly influenced by maternal-fetal attachment through active emotional regulation. Third, self-compassion indirectly affects maternal-fetal attachment through marital quality. Fourth, in regards to the relationship between self-compassion and maternal-fetal attachment, active emotional regulation and marital quality were mediated. Conclusion/Implications: we discussed implications for enhancing self-compassion and active emotional regulation and enhancing marital quality to increase the maternal-fetal attachment of pregnant women.

Objective: The goal of this study is to research how mother’s literacy interaction influences children’s interest in vocabulary and reading. Methods: The research subjects selected were 120 children who were three to four-year-old and their mothers. This study conducted questionnaires about the literacy interaction of the mothers. This study also surveyed vocabulary and interest in reading of the children by directly visiting the institutes and by researching the subjects individually. This study used technical statistics, Person’s product- moment correlation analysis, and multiple regression analysis in order to analyze the collected data. Results: The results of this study are summarized and concluded as follows. First, open interaction among the sub-areas of a mother s literacy interaction significantly affected children s vocabulary. Second, a mother s literacy interaction with children had no direct impact on the child s interest in reading. Conclusion/Implications: The mother’s literacy interaction could have a correlation with the vocabulary development of three to four-year-old children, and a mother s application of open interaction could significantly influence the receptive vocabulary and expressive vocabulary of children.

Objective: The purpose of this study was to examine the relationships among teachers’ resilience, difficulty in emotional regulation, and teaching strategies for behavior problems of children. Methods: A total of 200 day care and kindergarten teachers were surveyed. The collected data were analyzed by Pearson’s correlation and multiple regression. Results: First, teachers’resilience, difficulty in emotional regulation and teaching strategies for children with behavior problems were significantly related. Teachers’ resilience showed a positive correlation with teachers’ positive prevention and reaction strategies but showed a negative correlation with teachers’ negative reaction strategies. Among the teachers’ difficulty in emotional regulation, the factor of difficulty for impulsive control and lack of attention showed negative correlations with teachers’ prevention and positive reaction strategies. Second, teachers’ resilience and difficulty in emotional regulation significantly explained the teaching strategies for children with behavior problems. Teachers’ resilience was found to be the most important variable explaining teaching strategies for children with behavior problems. Conclusion/Implications: This study revealed that teachers’ resilience and difficulties in emotional regulation were important psychological and emotional characteristics for teachers when teaching children with behavior problems.
